SEA MONSTERS #2

on 23 November 2019

UYBHYS: the CTF

Take part in the Sea Monsters CTF #2 as part of the UYBHYS event!

An "Attack/Defence" CTF, what is it?

Want to develop your cyber skills in a fun and participatory setting? Choose your "sea monster" team and take part in a "game" consisting of hacking and/or defending your information system.

The CTF " sea monsters " is a pure "Attack/Defence" CTF like those found at the biggest events worldwide.
Chaque « monstre marin " (team) has its own network made up of vulnerable machines and sometimes the source code of the applications.

The "administration topology" has "machines" that come to "check" that the services hosted on each team's machines are working properly.

All the teams are networked together and each manages its own tactics:
Defend: "patch" your services (possibly recompile) and redeploy to avoid having flags (and therefore points) stolen by others;
Attack the other teams' networks and try to grab points.

Déroulement :

1:00 pm: Room opens – Briefing / Reminder of the rules
1:30 pm: Networking of the teams and access to the VMs / Warm-up
14h00 : Ouverture du CTF
18h00 : Fin du CTF, classement final et remise de prix

Prérequis/Matériel :

You should have your own laptop with RJ45 Ethernet connectivity. The organisers have a few USB/RJ45 adapters for those who have none at all.

Règles :

– The Organisation reserves the right to change the rules until the start of the challenge.
– No cheating or exchanging Flags (they are all different).
– Pas de DoS (Denial of Service).
– The administration/organisation network is not within the scope of the exercise.
– No modifying/deleting your own Flags (unsporting, you lose points).
– Your services aren't working? You lose points.
– You get a "flag" taken from you, you lose points.
– You cheat, you lose points (a lot).
– Everything is paid for with points.
– Your one and only way to earn points is to steal your opponents' flags.

Et n’oubliez pas : « Monster Brother is watching you ! »
